Just Shy of Harmony by Phillip Gulley is for Pastor's Wives Everywhere

When a friend of mine loaned me her copy of the novel Just Shy of Harmony I wasn't sure when I would have time to read it. Like me, my friend is also the wife of a pastor so her time is limited too. She made it sound interesting so I decided to give it a try.

The novel knocked my socks off.

Author Phillip Gulley is a Quaker Minister with a bird's eye understanding about church life. His knowledge and experiences shine through every page of this novel. Most plot events are unrealistic and funny. (What church would put lottery tickets in the bulletins to try to increase attendance?) The characters deal with these events in a manner that is eerily true to life.

It's a page turner and quick read. Even better, Just Shy of Harmony is part of a series. I can't wait to read the other books.
